Generate Shortened Bitly Links

GoAffPro provides you with the option to shorten affiliate referral links as Bitly links.

To shorten affiliate links as Bitly links, go to the Advanced section in the Settings tab of the GoAffPro admin panel.

Here, go to the Generate Shortened Links section.

Now, select the bit.ly shortener option.

Next, generate the Bitly generic access token.

To generate the Bitly generic access token:

Now, go to the API section.

Here, enter your account password.

Next, click on Generate token.

After this, copy the access token.

Finally, paste the generic access token in the Generate Shortened Links section of the GoAffPro app and click on Submit.

The referral links of all new affiliate registrations will automatically be shortened as Bitly links. For existing affiliates, the referral link will have to be shortened manually using this guide.

Bitly links FAQ

Can affiliates shorten their referral links themselves?

In GoAffPro, only the merchant can shorten the affiliate's referral link. Your affiliates can shorten their referral links using their own Bitly account.

If your affiliates decide to shorten their referral link using Bitly, the referral link tracking will still work.

How to direct Bitly links to a different page of my store?

To direct Bitly links to another page of your store, reset the existing Bitly links of affiliates and shorten them again.

It is recommended that you set up which page you want the referral links to open before integrating Bitly.
